1. FUNDS:
CHARITY YOUTH: All monies raised under the name of Lions are used only
for donations to individuals, groups, etc that are essentially non profit. We
have made donations to youth for camps, teams for equipment and uniforms,
murals, among others.
GENERAL FUND: All dues, ticket raffles, and fines monies go to pay dues
to Lions International, local district 4A-2, and Multiple District 4, ($44/
year/ member), building rent, breakfast, postage, and member related expenses.
2. ORGANIZATION:
CLUB, ZONE, REGION, DISTRICT
CLUB: Exeter
ZONE: (2) Exeter, Woodlake, and Three Rivers
REGION: (Central) Includes 3 zones and about 16 clubs
DISTRICT: (4A2) About 75 clubs from Fresno to
Bakersfield
MD4: Multiple Districts in California and
Nevada
INTERNATIONAL: WORLDWIDE, 180+ Countries
3. CLUB OFFICES: (Also see 2009-10 Club Officers)
Elected for one year terms with the exception of two directors which are elected for 2 year terms. Past Presidents meet to prepare a slate of candidates for the offices. Nominations begin in March with the final voting early April. Reported to Lions International by April 15th. Installation usually May/June.
4. PROGRAM CHAIRS: The vice presidents share duties in scheduling and notifying members to arrange for weekly programs. Each week the member in charge of the program also pays a $5 program fee which is used for the weekly drawing. An individual may be selected to coordinate notification of members.
5. TICKET SALES/FINES: All monies collected go to the General Fund.
6. ATHLETES OF THE MONTH: Selected by coaches and asked to attend our monthly award program with their parents and coaches. Athletes awarded a special medallion made for the Exeter Lions Club. Cost is deducted from Charity/Youth account.
7. ATHLETE OF THE YEAR: Generally selected by a group of past presidents from nominations submitted by the high school. Announced at high school graduation/awards night.
8. CARL LANDERS SCHOLARSHIP: A $500 scholarship also selected by past presidents from nominations submitted by the high school.
9. TOP TEN AWARDS: Given to Top Ten students at both Wilson Middle School and Exeter High School at end of year ceremonies.
10. LION OF THE YEAR: Selected by the current club president for outstanding Lionism.
11. BOARD MEETINGS: Currently held the 3rd Wednesday, at 6:30PM at the presidents place of choosing. All board members should attend each meeting and all members are invited. New members are encouraged to attend a board meeting to get a better understanding of how things such as donations are made and events are scheduled.
12. PERFECT ATTENDANCE: Members are allowed 4 missed meetings, illness excepted. Meetings can be made up within two weeks by attending other club meetings, special meetings or club events.
